Veterans from Coffee Stain and Mojang Announce New Publishing Label ‘Three Friends’
We’re a team of industry veterans behind Minecraft, Valheim, and Deep Rock Galactic, now dedicated to supporting indie developers. Based in Sweden, Three Friends focuses on working with Nordic teams—particularly in Sweden—helping them turn strong ideas into standout games.
Unlike traditional publishers, we don’t just fund games—we actively help shape them. By working with developers early, we make sure the right questions get answered at the right time.
Get in Early, Build it Right – The best games start with a solid foundation. We help developers refine their vision early to set them up for success.
Pick the Right Battles – Indie teams don’t have AAA resources. We help them focus on what truly makes their game special—like choosing the essential survival items for a deserted island.
Guidance, Not Control – We don’t take the reins. We work alongside developers, providing insight and support while respecting creative vision.
We’re looking for small, talented teams with big ideas—especially in Sweden and the Nordic region. But a great idea isn’t enough on its own.
For us to be a good fit, two things need to be true:
The concept has to have real potential—something that, if executed well, could be truly exciting and resonate with players.
The team has to be capable of delivering on that vision.
A playable prototype helps us evaluate both, but it’s not a strict requirement. Some ideas are hard to judge on paper, and having something tangible makes it easier to see the potential and how well the team can execute.
Even if you don’t have a prototype yet, we’d still love to hear from you. If the idea is strong, we’re happy to start the conversation early.
We don’t sign as many games as possible—we focus on making each one count. By partnering closely with a select few teams, we provide hands-on support, long-term investment, and the strategic guidance needed to succeed.
We believe the best indie games take time to refine their core gameplay before scaling up. That’s why we partner with developers early, helping them figure out what makes their game special so they can double down on what works.
If you’d like to get in touch with us about our games, working with us, publishing, anything, please fill in the form here and we’ll aim to get back to you as soon as we possibly can.
